Sports sweepstakes apps: picking games with Gold Coins and Sweep Coins

Sports sweepstakes apps let you back an NFL spread or a UFC fighter with coins instead of cash. Here is how a ticket works, what changed in 2026, and what to look at before you tap "place".

A sports sweepstakes app is a social sportsbook where you place tickets with two kinds of coins: Gold Coins, which are for fun and have no cash value, and Sweep Coins, which you get free or alongside a Gold Coin purchase and which the app may let you redeem for prizes under its own published rules. The odds, the markets and the bet slip look like any sportsbook. The difference is what you stake.

Short answer: You pick Gold Coins or Sweep Coins in the bet slip, the whole ticket stays in that coin, and a win or a void comes back in the same coin. A 2.00 SC ticket at odds of 1.85 returns 3.70 SC. As of October 2026 the category is shifting: Novig and ProphetX moved to prediction markets in June 2026, while Fliff and Rebet have applied to follow.

For adults only. Play for fun, and treat any coin you put on a game as spent.

How do sports sweepstakes apps work?

You open an account and receive coins. Gold Coins come in packs you can buy, and through daily logins and promotions. Sweep Coins come with a pack, at one Sweep Coin per US dollar paid, so a $10 pack includes 10.00 SC, or for free through a mail-in request or bonuses. If the two coins are new to you, our Gold Coins vs Sweep Coins guide covers them in detail.

Then it is a sportsbook. You choose a game, a market and a price. Before confirming, you choose the coin. That one extra choice changes nothing about the odds. The price of the Chiefs winning doesn't depend on what you stake on it.

A ticket in each coin, worked out

Here is a made-up Sunday with decimal odds. You start with 25,000 GC and 8.00 SC.

Now say the game behind the 2.20 leg is postponed and voided. The parlay doesn't die. The void leg drops out, the ticket becomes a single at 1.95, still in Sweep Coins. And if a result is corrected days later, the adjustment is made in the ticket's own coin. Gold Coins never pay for a Sweep Coin correction.

Which sports can you bet on?

Depends on the app, but the US calendar drives everything. The NFL owns autumn weekends, with Monday and Thursday games in between. The NBA and NHL run on weeknights through the winter. MLB fills the summer, nearly every day. UFC lands on Saturday nights all year. Most apps add soccer (Premier League mornings are popular with US fans), college football and basketball, tennis, golf and esports.

Known sports sweepstakes apps: dated facts

These are facts from public reporting, with the date, not recommendations. The category changed fast in 2026, and several names below no longer run a sweepstakes model.

The sportsbook technology behind sweepstakes apps

Most apps don't build their own odds. They plug in a sportsbook engine from a supplier, then wrap it in their coins. The hard part is the coin layer: a sportsbook built for one cash wallet has to be taught that every ticket belongs to one of two balances, including voids and corrections. For the operator-side view, see sweepstakes sportsbook software compared on our sister site. Here is the short version, ranked by how directly each one addresses GC/SC tickets.

  1. Nocturn Sport Top pick

A full social sportsbook built around Gold Coin and Sweep Coin tickets, a format almost nobody else offers as a product. The player picks the coin in the bet slip, a ticket is in one coin only, and wins, voids and resettlements go back to that coin. Odds, markets and live betting are the same as the main Nocturn Sport book, covering the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, soccer and more, and stake limits can be set per sport and per coin. It plugs into a brand's existing coin wallet through its own API namespace. Brands that also want casino games on the same coins can pair it with titles like the Gridiron Noir football slot from Nocturn Play. Operators curious about the US business case can read how US sweepstakes brands add NFL and NBA tickets.

  2. Sparket

B2B platform that partnered with Sportzino to launch FunPicks, a sweepstakes product, announced on 27 September 2024.

  3. Altenar

Has published a blog post introducing social betting to its sportsbook. We found no named sweepstakes clients.

  4. BtoBet

Listed by CB Insights as offering white-label and API sweepstakes solutions that combine sports and casino. We could not find BtoBet's own announcement.

Sports and slots in one account

Plenty of players move between a ticket and a slot on the same evening. If that's you, an app that runs both on one pair of balances is simpler. Football fans who like reels might enjoy our Gridiron Noir review, a slot that keeps score with downs and yards. FAQ

What is a sports sweepstakes app?

It is a sportsbook app where you bet with Gold Coins for fun or Sweep Coins under the app's sweepstakes rules, instead of cash. Odds and markets work like a normal sportsbook.

Can I mix Gold Coins and Sweep Coins on one parlay?

No. Every ticket, single or parlay, is in one coin chosen on the slip. A Sweep Coin parlay can only contain Sweep Coin legs.

Do odds change if I bet with Sweep Coins?

No. The price of an outcome is the same in either coin. What changes is which balance pays for the ticket and which balance receives the win.

What happens if a game on my ticket is cancelled?

The stake goes back to the coin it came from. On a parlay, the voided leg drops out and the rest of the ticket carries on in the same coin.

Is Fliff still a sweepstakes app?

Fliff has run a two-coin model with Fliff Coins and Fliff Cash. In August 2026 it applied to the NFA through Fliff FCM LLC to move toward prediction markets, so check its current terms.

Which sports are on sweepstakes sportsbooks?

The core is the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and UFC, with soccer, college sports, tennis, golf and esports on many apps. Coverage depends on the app and its sportsbook supplier.

Can I redeem Sweep Coins won on sports tickets?

Sweep Coins won on tickets join your Sweep Coin balance. Whether and how they can be redeemed depends on the app's official rules, including minimums, play-through and identity checks.
